ValueLights
photography guidelines.
A photography and content standards guide created to bring more consistency across ValueLights product listings and marketing imagery.
The project defined how products should be photographed, styled and presented across ecommerce, marketplaces and campaign assets, covering everything from studio photography and lifestyle imagery to image crops, colourways, lighting, composition and text-safe areas. It also introduced a consistent eight-image structure for product listings, giving every image a clear purpose and making ranges feel more cohesive across the site.
The guidelines were designed as a practical working tool rather than a purely visual brand document. Alongside creative direction, they included clear production standards for PLP and PDP imagery, marketplace specifications, photography do’s and don’ts, and a final shot checklist to make briefs and approvals easier to follow.
Below, the full document shows how the system was translated into a clear, repeatable set of visual rules for both product and marketing photography.
